So most of you dont know I went for surgery yesterday. Why didnt you know? Its not the most glamourous procedure, in fact its something most people never talk about. It can be rather embarrassing too. Anyways it was a hemorrhoidectomy requiring being knocked out and having a hemorrhoid surgically removed. Why am I sharing this now? Apparently 100 million Americans suffer from it, and likely a similar percentage of Canadians, yet few talk about it. In my situation, it was one internal hemorrhoid that was annoying rather than painful. It would bleed once in awhile causing embarrassment if I didnt notice in time and it leaked through. I hated it. So it had to go and I risked the surgery/anesthetic to regain some sense of comfort and not worry about embarrassment again. If you suffer in silence, like so many men do, you dont need to. You can deal with it so you dont suffer any more. You can talk to me too, knowing Ive been there. Anyways, of all weekends to be incapacitated, Cristina and all my kids are sick, and Im zonked out in the couch. Lovely. Not sure recovery time but may be out of it for awhile. Thanks for listening.
