So much for tripple redundancy openreach - I specifically asked for the transition of lines 1 and 2 on different dates and the installation of line 3 on another date to make sure that I would not be without a stable connection. As unluckiness would have it - line one was transferred 2 days ahead of line two. But line one has been unstable for that two day period and will remain so for another few days - well! line two went offline at 2am this morning for the transfer and hasnt bloody well come back up. As for line 3 - well thats a doosy. You see Openreach install 3 pairs of wires into every home. One for the main line, A second incase the person gets a second line and the third incase of a third line or incase one of the other two bugger up. As you may all recall - last year I had to open up a proverbial can of whoopass on BT Openreach because my second line was buggered. This was remedied by switching the second line onto pair 3 and disconnecting pair 2. So in otherwords at the minute, inside my socket - pair 1 is connected to my main line, pair three to my second line and pair 2 is totally buggered. So ask yourself. With the only available pair being buggered - what can you do? Well! It is simple. A new cable need to be pulled from the house down the conduit to the DP at the end of the road. However, a standard engineer cant do that - it needs to be a network engineer that does that. I knew this and it is why I specifically told BT about pair 2 being buggered. Of course they didnt pass this info along. Oh nooooo! That would be too simple! Instead they have booked an appointment to install today and I have just found out it is a standard installer who cant do the job. Of course BT openreach dont talk to customers, ISPs cant talk to engineers and all they can say is - the engineer will find out when he comes out! What the! Let me get this straight! An engineer that cant do the job needs to come out to the premises to find out he cant do it meaning I cant get the line installed today and to top it off, some other poor bugger that could have had that appoint also has to wait - minus 10 points for efficiency guys! So! Line 1 is totally unstable - Line 2 has died and Line 3 cant get installed. Its a good job I happen to have the new CEOs direct email address then - HAHA! Thought you could screw with me by switching CEOs on me did ya!?!?! Nice try! Ya can run but you cant hide!
