Our counter culture forced the Pink Boys and their Conspiracy to yield and stop it. All our older brothers (the ones that made it) were coming back with horrific stories.It wasnt a dry desert. It was a hot, steamy swamp. Nasty. It was the last year of the draft before it ended. No student deferments. I was a freshman. We sat around the TV i the common room watching an old balding guy with fuzzy ears reaching into the tumbler to pull out the number and decide your fate. I pulled high - #326 - (women and children first)- My friend Roger pulled 54. They ended the draft at 52. Our friend Jeff got lucky number 7. He got his induction notice that friday and we never heard from him again. An extra 5000 boys were killed because Nixon delayed the wars end by 6 months to coincide with election time and got himself reelected. Unfortunately we were unable to switch dicks in the middle of a screw......people voted for Nixon in 72. Vietnam falling and the Domino Theory of the spread of Communism in South East Asia turned out to be completely wrong. All that death and destruction for nothing.
