So much packed into Chapter 18! Children, childlike faith, church discipline, forgiveness. Hard to narrow down and focus on one thing. I felt led to talk a bit about the idea of childlike faith. I believe that many times we make things way more complicated than they really are. I have read more books on prayer and faith than I can count. Some of them were very good. Some of them seemed to turn prayer and faith into magic formulas to get what you want from God. First of all, let me say that God will not be manipulated. You are not gonna trick God into doing what you want. He knows your motivation. He knows your heart. I think that we are sometimes guilty in wondering if we said the right words or if we quote enough Scripture in our prayers that somehow God will be more likely to answer. But God is a Father and if you are born again then you are one of his children. And he is a Father who is approachable through Jesus. He DESIRES for us to come and pray. So come to him like a child and BELIEVE and TRUST your Heavenly Father. He will always do what is best for you!
