So my 10 day social media cleanse came to a close yesterday. I would say that the discipline was VERY beneficial. Ill be continuing along the same guidelines. Here are 3 more realizations that were made during my cleanse: 1. I REALLY like people! I gain so much good energy from all of the positive people in my social media feeds. I like my friends. I love the groups that I am a part of. Social media allows me to connect with SO many people all over the world. I love that part! 2. Scrolling is not important, and certainly not beneficial for me... no matter how much I like my friends. Unfortunately, there is just too much other stuff that is intertwined in my feeds. Junk gets stored in my brain. Its just mental fat. I need all the brain storage I can get for the good stuff in life! 3. This started out as an experiment. I honestly didnt think I had a problem. Many of you have made comments or thought to yourself, Im not that bad....but there are a lot of my friends who need to do this! They are ALWAYS on Facebook. Well, if you recognize that they are always on Facebook, you are too. Give it a try. WARNING: This has been far more than a social media thing. Ive heard it said that an addiction is an avoidance of feeling. I was using FB scrolling as a way to avoid feeling and dealing with some major issues in my life. So know that when you take a life escape out of your daily routine, you may experience major spiritual growth. Just a fair warning. God wants your attention. :)
