So my 82 year old father while working on a rental property with power tools, cut off the tip of his ring finger and part of his middle finger. He drove himself to the hospital at 2:30. My older brother picks up my mother (74 with Alzheimers) and takes her to the hospital. Around 8, my older sister finally gets a call. She calls me. I rush to the hospital - the nurse said he was in surgery and that I should take mom because she was confused by the situation. I take mom to our house and Elizabeth gets her to bed. My sisters go to the hospital to be with dad. Lacy takes the day off to sit with dad as he sleeps. He is recovering but the medication (which is necessary) has him groggy at best. Prayer is so much more effective than Vicodin. Thanks for all those who have started. The old geezer needs it. Hopefully, we wont have to put him down. The cool part of the story is that it took him 82 years to finally seriously injure himself. Quite a run ! This should be a sign to him that its time to outsource. The folks that live the longest are generally the most stubborn. Well see. The guy still times himself while doing Sudoku :)
