So, my day after Christmas consisted of driving over an hour to Monroe, Michigan to reclaim one of Bellas pups. When I arrived at the location, all I could think was how I was so completely disgusted by the conditions she was forced to live in. Many of you will remember that Gigi was the one that I did not want to sell. I had two females and one male left out of the litter, and I listed both females for sale. However, I thought I had listed Gigi high enough that they would not want to purchase her. But of course they chose her. This is after a three and a half hour interview with them. A background check. And coming to the house here, and spending a good amount of time with both myself, and Gigi. All I can say is I am so disgusted not only with them, but with myself as well. Why? Well, I allowed myself to be fooled buy a couple who portrayed themselves as loving, loyal, and devoted to the care and nurturing of the dog. When I arrived at the location where I was to pick her up, I was appalled by the deplorable state. I found Gigi cowering under a table afraid, petrified, I was was sick and beyond belief. I could not get her out of there fast enough. The first two photos are how I found her. Vomit, feces, and urine infested surroundings, she had vomit stuck to her chin, feces wedged within the pads of her paws, and she was all matted and tangled. I wanted to cry. I could not believe that one of the beautiful babies that I produced had been turned into something I did not even recognize. The next three pictures R Gigi back at home, bathed, brushed, groomed, and reunited happily with her family. This just goes to show you, is that no matter how careful you are when interviewing potential buyers, that even the most experienced breeders can be tricked.
