So...my first try at making my own prosthetic ears. Water-Elf - TopicsExpress

So...my first try at making my own prosthetic ears. Water-Elf ears! Now, I didnt use the exact recommended method or materials...this was just to try my hand at it. I used a toy dragons wings, covered them in some crayola model magic and shaped them up a bit, painted a few layers of white glue over the model magic when it dried, then used a mix of rubber latex, flesh latex, and dye for soap casting. I painted several layers of the latex mixture over the model magic, and when I felt it was built up enough I drew my ear hole parts on with ink pen, then gently peeled up the latex piece enough that I could cut along the line with some snips. After that, I slowly worked them off the molded forms (which ended up breaking apart as i took off the rubber latex, but that was expected). Once I had the rubber latex pieces off, I trimmed around the back and fronts a little to get a decent fit on my ears, then I used baby powder on the inside and outside of the rubber latex prosthetic ears. I have yet to try them on with some spirit gum to see if they will stay on or hold up. However, I think when I try in the future with the correct materials I will now at least have a better idea of how the process works and a general idea of how long it takes to complete. So, what do you guys think?
