So now that theres been a high profile horrible cop assassination, Im seeing a lot of Police Lives Matter stuff. Of course they do. All lives matter. But lets take a look at the saying. What the saying is trying to emphasis is that we shouldnt ignore or shrug off these deaths. It shouldnt be just oh, it was just a cop, doesnt matter. I think, without a doubt, that no one is saying that. Everyone saying how tragic this killing is and everyone is expressing condolences to the families involve. As they should. However, when the string of cops killing unarmed black men and children came about, there was an argument on does it matter. Ive been literally called a few unsavory terms because Ive brought up the fact that this is a problem that should be investigated. If it hasnt been obvious, what Im saying is that when I see Police Lives Matter. I think in my head, no shit, everyone already knows that but when I see that African-American Lives Matter theres this huge debate on how they deserved it. So, yah, its tragic that those two cops were killed by that crazed idiot from out of state (NY), but dont start getting all sensitive about how no one cares about cops because of the string of killings that a few of them have done. Everyone still cares. Dont pretend that its mutually exclusive.
