So one of the best things about bringing Chloe to Barleepalooza on - TopicsExpress

So one of the best things about bringing Chloe to Barleepalooza on Saturday was everyone (and it seemed like everyone!) already knew Chloe from these Facebook posts, and they were so happy to meet her in person. I cannot adequately express how much it warms my heart to know that Chloe has so much love and support out there. Thank-you! Many people mentioned that she was smaller than she looks in her photos. I think thats a combination of her filling up her doggie bed, and also seeing past the fur and seeing the size of her wonderful heart. For anyone not at Barleepalooza who wants to know: Chloe is mid-sized. About the size of a Border Collie. Maybe a touch bigger. Unlike groups of dog lovers/owners I encounter in parks, all of the extended Barlees family seemed to know about how to act around more nervous dogs. Nobody pushed Chloe too hard, and everyone gave her space when she needed it. This atmosphere was soooo good for her. Still, she did have a couple of moments of must hide! moments. One was as we were leaving. I opened a back door on my car to put her in the crate. Well, before I could get the crate door opened she jumped in the car and wedged herself in the (what seemed like) 4 inches of space between the crate and the back of the seat! It was so funny and I wish I could have gotten a picture with her body wedged in and her head sticking out of the top, but of course I was too worried about her safety. The other one was in the covered area where they were selling food tickets and some clothing. She had been in and out a few times already, but this time we got close to the table and she decided that it was time to make a dash under there. I got a pic of that one. Thank-you all for helping make it a great day for us!
