So our flight ended up boarding, then we had to get back off, we were delayed about two hours to re board and sit on the plane another hour before take off was allowed. We landed in Chicago, just in time to see our connecting flight leave for takeoff...with our checked bags. Stuck in The Windy City, with clothes much more suitable for Kentuckys warm and moist air. No alternate flights yesterday night. No direct routes today (other than an evening flight which would get us home more than 24 hours past our original arrival time). The only option was another connecting flight Chicago to Philly, Philly to Dulles...of course the first flight boarding at 5:15...which means leaving the hotel at 3:30 am. Mind you we checked in at 12 midnight. At least its a swanky and modern hotel, With warm bathrobes to envelop me, in lieu of the clothes I do not have. Still positive and grateful to be here now, to have the ability to move freely, and have the luxury to travel. Another strange encounter on this flight! I am certain, there must be something with me flying with the famous. This flight is graced with another celebrity, that of Bam Margera... What a small, strange, unique little melting pot we live in. All the freaky people make the beauty of the world. Time to try and zzz on the 2nd of 3 flights in 24 hours. Grateful to feel the feeling of floating once more. Taking in the vast beauty of it all, seen through window seats peering down at Mother Earth, and between moments of rushing people, their feet racing. All of us sharing an unspoken understanding of travel; unifying all walks of life and languages, we are all here now, witnessing beauty in motion.
