The district recognized two other track champs. Eighth-grader Alekos Mitchel completed the 1,600-meter run in 4 minutes, 43.92 seconds, while Zak Hutchinson ranked first among seventh-graders in the same event in 4:51.54. Both are from Martino Junior High. Another Martino student, Nate Rittenbacher, took fourth place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.9 seconds, district spokeswoman Jenny Zimmerman told the board. Courtney O’Donnell, of Liberty Junior High, placed fourth in the discus event.
