So recently Ive seen a lot of posts concerning modern day feminism and I figured that I would throw my input in. Both parts of the argument have valid points. Women shouldnt have to worry about men creeping on them in bars and slipping a drug in their drink but we live in a world where its unrealistic that you will be able to completely eradicate this problem, so its always best to teach women to be on their guard. One of the big arguments that Ive heard is that wearing revealing clothing doesnt give men the right to try to hit on a girl. Pardon me if this comes of as rude in any way but I disagree with this. Lets put it this way, a merchant doesnt put on display the merchandise that he is not looking to sell, in other words how else is a man supposed to know which women are looking for someone? I completely agree that women should be paid as much as a man and that women deserve equal respect but the big thing about a lot of feminist messages that i see these days is that they can be fairly hypocritical or overreact to small situations. Lets take into example a story I recently heard where a man was ridiculed for wearing a shirt that had a woman in a bikini on it. People claimed that he was a pig and was disgusting, but it was just a simple shirt, which was given to him by a friend who also happened to be a female. Also if you see a man who has multiple women trying to court or hit on him its seen as acceptable, but if you reverse the roles it would be attacked by many feminists saying that its repulsive. If you know me you know I love a good debate, but if youre going to comment on this status then try to be respectful of other peoples opinions. In other words, if you comment something intentionally rude or offensive I will delete your comment no matter how good of a point it makes.
