In fact, the mass had grown down from his thyroid yet his thyroid tests were all normal (as mine have been yet I was finally recently diagnosed with Hashimotos.) I hope anyone who feels they may have thyroid problems will insist on a antithyroid antibody test, which is probably not covered by your insurance. Doctors will not run this test as a rule yet it can uncover serious thyroid issues that show as normal on standard TSH and T4 tests.
