So sad, final verdict on Agave Nectar is that its actually worse for you than fructose corn syrup :(. Turns out its neither natural nor from the sap of the agave plant, but highly processed starch of the root bulb. It contains a whopping 70% fructose vs 55% in high fructose corn syrup, which we all know is bad for you. So what sweetner to turn to? Honey, Maple Syrup and my new favorite Coconut Palm Sugar!
