So, someone made a comment on Lewis Diuguid article comment section responding to my anti-muslim comments (if you want, you can go read it under comment sections). He was of course ignorant of Muslims denouncing acts of terrorism. Here is my response to him. Please use any of this when you are asked the same question from people who are unfamiliar with Islam and Muslims: Hello Mr. XXX. I could ask you the same question if you are an American Citizen. Does it matter? Decency and respect crosses man-made international borders. If you go to the Crescent Peace Society website crescentpeace.org, or google us, you will find that we have been putting statements denouncing acts of violence and terrorism since 1997 beginning with the acts of the then Afghan government-before it was called the Taliban. We have been doing so ever since. Here are several links of Muslims denouncing terrorism (and there are many many more): religioustolerance.org/islfatwa.htm,islam.about/cs/currentevents/a/9_11statements.htm, worldbulletin.net/haber/137367/nigerias-muslim-leader-condemns-boko-haram, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muslim_attitudes_towards_terrorism. I do accept my life in America, I cherish it, I am thankful my parents immigrated here in the 1950s and I love living here. The US Constitution allows me and every American the ability to practice our faith as we desire. We dont have that in other countries. Do not take what extremist do in the name of my faith representing my faith as I wont look at the KKK as representatives of all Christian faith or Gush Emunim Underground or Terror Against Terror representatives of all Jewish faith etc. My faith is with God (the Arabic word is Allah), my country is America. BTW, answering your first question. I was born in the City of Brotherly Love:) Peace to you, Mr. XXX. PS. to Ms.YYY (this person thought it was an intolerant Muslim who assassinated Gandhi), Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by an extremist who would say he practiced Hinduism. He was angry with Gandhi because he was being inclusive to all people in India. Hate has no faith, terrorism has no faith. Religion doesnt teach us hate, people do. As the Crosby, Stills and Nash song goes: Teach Your Children Well-Teach your children what you believe in. Make a world that we can live in.
