So thankful for some winter clothes to pack for this trip. I bought some at a thrift store and at Khols when we went home to speak at the Riverside Alliance Church, and normally would have left them at home. We certainly dont need them here in Burkina Faso! Since we had a Missions Conference to attend in Spain in November so I brought them back with me so I could pack them for Spain. The inexpensive soft comfy boots I bought from Pick and Pay were coming apart on both feet in two places, but I was able to sew them and they look like new! :) This morning I worked on plans to leave for my cook so she can still prepare for John and the teams that are coming. Also with two guest homes on this side of town I had to leave instructions for which rooms to clean when as people are constantly coming and going......This reminded me of the many substitute teaching plans I used to do when I was teaching 3rd grade only a bit more complex and they were also written in two different languages .... :) Our Envision/Engage missionaries are amazing and will be filling in any gaps and taking care of details as they come up while I am gone. They will be an invaluable huge help to John, as they always are! This also helps me with having to leave him here. We have a talented, dedicated, hard working staff here, and they are all willing to help out however they are needed. Brookes mom arrives in Durham today and is able to be through Feb 6th. I will arrive on Feb 4th and have planned return tickets the end of March, knowing I can change them if I need to. We are not sure how long I will be needed. This can give me a bit of flexibility. It is hard to believe but a round trip ticket is much cheaper than a one way ticket. This just boggles my mind. I also have to say that our leaders in Envision and Engage Burkina are also very supportive and understanding of this family need, and we appreciate that SO very much. They agree with the order of priorities as God, family, and then ministry. We are truly very blessed and have so much to be thankful for. We assured our leaders that all of our team ministries would continue well during my absence. It was good to hear them affirm that they had no doubt about that knowing our team here on the ground. I am so very thankful for so much today. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts, thoughts and prayers.
