So the Federal government is going to spend money in Ferguson Mo to retrain police officers to do what? Be nicer to people that hit them and call them names. The tragedy here is not only that several lives have been ruined by this incident but that people have used it to push a false agenda. Police officers have a very difficult job that is at times dangerous. They make decisions, that remain with them forever, in a blink of an eye. I am not going to say which side of the issue I stand on here, but I am going to say this. I do not want my Government or the leadership of my country to spend one single dollar of my tax payers money to rebuild this community. If you burn down the community you live in then you can figure out how to get the money together to fix it. As far as retraining officers what are you expecting? The officers may learn something but the citizens in the community will still be the same. Are they being retrained not to insult or hit officers. Are they being retrained to respect officers and to listen to them instead of trying to get buy saying everything is your fault. This week end I was stopped by an officer for speeding. I knew I was speeding and when I saw him start to come up behind me I pulled over(before he had his lights on) and when he walked up I had my ID and my proof of insurance ready. I told him I knew I was speeding. It was not a confrontational situation because there was respect given. Guess what he let me off with a warning. People need to remember that respect is everything. So today when you see an officer for any reason wave, hold the door, or just say Hi. They need our thanks for doing the job they do.
