So the high tunnel has finally arrived! Against all odds we worked it out so it appeared yesterday. Prior to the big date I had attempted to do some homework to figure out how manageable the load would be as the bill of lading stated it was 2000 lbs. After consultations with other high tunnel owners I was sure it would be in appropriately sized boxes able to be manhandled as it were. I was disabused of this notion once the driver opened the bay door to reveal only two boxes stacked atop one another. Each would weigh in at about 1000 lbs. It took 45 minutes and all the ingenuity we could muster, but they finally fell to either side of the driveway leaving just enough room for vehicular traffic. It looks like quite a project to put all those pipes together in a meaningful form. A project which I hope many of you reading this now with be in on from the ground floor...
