So the journey continues to be interesting. After I spiked the fever the hunt was on for the source. I knew it had to be from the abomen located at my navel. Finally yesterday in the shower, it was obvious with redness and swelling. When the infectious disease doctor came in, I lifted my gown saying I have cellulitis, to which she replied indee you do. She ordered a CT scan and changed the antibiotics. Overnight it localized and hurt but was less tender. The doctor came in and said he needed to look at it. I laid down, he started to press around on it, when all of a sudden his index finger plunged through it and Mount Saint Belly erupted down the sides of my belly, between my legs, under my butt, an soaking a towel. After five minutes of torture, it took two nurses and myself to get me cleaned up and the two of them 45 minutes to get my wound dressed and the room cleaned. I would have loved to have had a picture of their faces when he ruptured that thing. Durinyg the dressing, a cool wound nurse came in and somehow I managed to make a joke and the laughter started. So, dressing changes every 8 hours. Maybe home tomorrow, maybe not, still waiting for cultures. Tara, my nurse took several pictures of Chemo Duck being treated with my camera, so I cant post until I get home. March on warriors, march on.
