So the less than all there Minneapolis city council has approved a $200 million project to put a trolley line in on Lake Street and into Downtown, this all comes just after they spent almost as much to REMOVE all the old streetcar tracks and rebuild Lake Street from Lake Calhoun to the West end of the Lake Street bridge. There must be something wrong with these people. Would the streetcar/trolley line use tracks? What the heck is wrong with using the buses? The MTC has been established and they could just as easily offer smaller buses on special routes. Maybe more due diligence is needed before they make more considerations for spending massive quantities of money to tie up traffic on Lake Street for another 10 years. Maybe they should give the just finished Lake Street time to get old and worn out before they tear it up again! There are other parts of the Minneapolis area that desperately need attention and repair that the council seems to be ignoring.
