So the news is that I decided against the townhouse in Mauldin. After the events of this morning, it seemed a better choice was to move a little further afield. Like, say, for instance, Los Angeles. Nope, not kidding, Im doing it! I waited to post anything on here until Id told a whole bunch of people in person and on the phone. After I leave my house for the last time on February 6th (which will no longer be mine at that point, since I close the sale tomorrow), Ill stay in a residential hotel long enough to wrap up my employment, which will last through the 14th. On Saturday, February 15th, sometime fairly early in the morning, Ill take everything in the hotel room, including my dog and cat, load it all into the car, and start driving west. If I hadnt already told you this in person, believe me when I say it anyway: all of you who Ive known over the years here in Greenville mean the world to me. The closer you are to me, the more you know how much living in L.A. has been a dream of mine for the last twenty years. This is an opportunity that I simply cant turn down. Ill miss all of you more than words can ever begin to say, and of course once I have a home out there, youll all be welcome to visit. Just not all at once.
