So the other night we were sitting in a restaurant and the people - TopicsExpress

So the other night we were sitting in a restaurant and the people at the next table over had a two-year-old who was sitting in a high chair and they basically both had their chairs facing her so they were practically on top of her the whole meal and while I wanted to laugh at them it occurred to me that I probably shouldn’t. Why? Because this used to be me. Yup, I was once Mrs. Overprotective Mommypants, which probably explains why Zoey has turned out, uhhh, the way she has. I mean I LOVVVVE her to death and wouldn’t change a thing about her. Except for a few things. Like the fact that when she barely bumps her arm into a wall she falls to the floor a crying mess and could win an Oscar for the act she puts on. And it’s probably because I used to wrap her in bubble wrap and surround her with pillows and make her wear a helmet. Not really but I wanted to. Anyways, my friend Mommy Shorts is the kind of mom I want to be. The mom who lets her kids do shit without freaking out. The mom who doesn’t think her kid is going to break a leg when she jumps off a curb. The mom whose kids are going to be able to function in life when they get a paper cut. Here, read this awesome post she wrote because it’s perfect and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. And if you like it, don’t forget to “LIKE” it!
