So, the roads up here (where I live) are popular with cyclists. They are good routes, I know (I used to ride them) - but theyre dangerous. Theyre dangerous roads for cars - and even moreso for bikes: blind turns, narrow-to-nonexistent shoulders, the possibility of critters showing up out of nowhere... A lot of cyclists that ride up here seem to think share the road means the cars dont belong there and that their bikes are the only vehicles that should be allowed there. To the handful of cyclists I passed on the Tollhouse/Lodge Rd route this morning while running errands... THANK YOU! I dont know if you were all riding together (there was considerable distance between some of you), but you all had something in common... safety and consideration were obviously in the front of your minds. Thank you for staying on the shoulder when you had the opportunity and as near it as possible when you didnt. Thank you for being my eyes around the turns where I couldnt see and you could. Thank you for waving back when I waved out my window in appreciation for *your* consideration. Just... thank you!
