So, they sent Noah off for an MRI since his left side was a little weak. The results came back and Noah has a portion deep in his brain that was deprived of oxygen for a little too long last Friday. It is the exact spot that controls the left side of the body. The Dr also thinks that is why he cant be fully removed from the respirator. What a blow to the freaking gut this is! Fortunately, Noah can bounce back! He can still move that side, just not as much as his right side. He can move his toes, his leg, lift his arm, and even can squeeze your hand a little. Hope is not lost! The Dr said he can still fully recover from this and that he is not changing the aggressive treatment plan. They are going to perform a tracheostomy (placing the breathing tube in his trachea) Monday morning. They can then remove the breathing tube from his throat and turn the sedation totally off. He will become fully awake. They will start working with him vigorously to heal his brain. They will also continue to work on taking him completely off of the respirator. Another step back, but our son is alive and this is not a permanent issue. He will have to work harder than he ever has in his life. He can do it! We will be there every step of the way. It will be very emotional Monday for him. He will get frustrated a lot and so will we, but we will get him healed! Please continue to pray for our Noah! Thank you and love you all!
