So this afternoon at the Santa Monica Police Station... a brainwriting session on digital currencies with a detective, an x-DEA now head of Banking Security, Banker, me and a few ladies from the jail. It was very interesting to say the least. In a room like that, there were a lot of opinions and perspectives - and I was there as much to share my perspective/opinion as I was to listen to and understand others perspectives. The discussion got heated at times... me under fire, bankers under fire. I struggled to hold my own space and keep my heart and mind open to really understand the other views and not go on the defensive, protective or close down. Whew - these kind of conversations can be hard to stay open and positive while acknowledging and digesting the very real negative parts of human society. The reward was an understanding of other views. A respect of these other views. Were all connected. Its all systems. To create the best futures, one must leave their judgement at the door and enter with a fresh mind and open heart.
