So this dude, Vincent Moon, created a series of quick flicks called “Take Away Shows”. Basically, Vince teams up with brilliant musicians, throws them a few frosties, nudges them toward unexpected, often public locations and then just lets them go for it. Between ‘06 and ‘09, over two hundred Take Away Shows were produced. Bands included Arcade Fire, Sufjan Stevens, Tom Jones (!), Beirut, Grizzly Bear, and Sigur Ros. Here’s one from Phoenix. It’s ace.
