So this happened outside my school, luckily when no students or staff were around. Theres obviously a lot thats concerning in this video but one thing that I havent seen mentioned is the language of the person recording. I very much appreciate his and his friends willingness to do the right thing and record this despite the threat to them. I dont mean to take away from that at all. But the language of You need to sort your shit out implies that the problem is beating a woman in public rather than beating a woman. That may not have been his intention or his feelings. We dont really think through what we say in super tense situations. I just want to make sure we dont feel ok about things like this happening behind closed doors either. I want everyone to actually feel safe in my neighborhood rather than for me to just think everyone feels that way because I dont see anything happening.
