So this is just my opinion, so you can take it or leave it. Its well known, Im a conservative. Not a straight down the line conservative, & definitely not a religious conservative, obviously, cause everyone knows I stand pretty socially liberal, what with my advocations of gay marriage & ending the drug war & other stuff. But you want my opinion why Republicans have a hard time being taken serious? Its because of things like this. Instead of taking advice from economists or political scientists, or real scientists, we are taking advice from Phil Robertson. A man whose spent his life hunting & making duck calls. Im not calling him a bad man. But he has no business in representing what the Republican party stands for. And as of late, he has been. Im not a big fan of Hannity, I dont think he is a good representation of Republican ideals. Sure, if youre a religious conservative, he is. But he does have a huge voice for the conservatives in America. So he shouldnt waste time on his show with the likes of Phil Robertson. Want my advice of how to get a conservative victory? Take your religious beliefs, & let them guide your life, but not political policy. We are in a time of change, & as badly as someone who is religious may want to fight it, youre kicking a dead horse. The people have spoken. The religious right is a dying breed. And if you cant pick yourself up, & you lag behind the changing times, we (conservatives) will never win again. Stop saying youre against something cause the Bible is against something. Start standing for progress & more equality. Stand up for the people, take a stand on how we can make it easier on businesses, how we can help people become more self efficient, how we stand for individual liberty. THOSE are conservative ideals, not your personal religious beliefs. There is a reason church & state are separate, & for too long people, mostly conservatives, have tried to intermingle them, & it has blown up in their faces. Like I said, this is just my opinion from my observation on why the right is losing, take it or leave it.
