So this is what Marissa A puts on her page about me. I never said anything about her dog. She is in her early 20s Has a u-2 and another smaller bird. Of course I have groomed her birds and she does take some what good care of them. But she wanted another too and I didnt feel the right one for her. but I guess she couldnt understand that. this is what she posted on her wall. My birds are for life, but even if I ever had to give them up I would never give them to one person in particular. Whose rescue is a joke. A bird deserves a home of love and one on one attention. Not one with 20 or 30 or 40 other birds.. She likes to claim that she doesnt own dogs because family dogs kill birds and thats the ridiculous rouse she uses to deny adopters and tell them all she is looking for the right bird even though she has no intention of ever adopting to you. Ridiculous. Dogs generally dont have the same bird drive as cats do, yet she owns cats. Yes, some are bird reactive, but to say that all/most homes with dogs pose a risk to one of her birds is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard. The point of a rescue is to take in birds that need you, find good homes for the adoptable birds, adopt them out, and make room for other birds in need. I know when /if its ever time to look into another bird, I will not waste my time going to this rescue and will tell others how she runs things. You should treat every adopter as an individual, a case by case situation. My pet owner network is far and wide around ny The funny thing is I wasnt even trying to adopt a bird yet, I just told her to keep me in mind if any special cockatoos come in, and got her notorious I will let you know when a bird will work for your situation. which means, no. Balls up and say no, dont lead people around, its pathetic, when they could be spending that time looking into some of the other REAL rescues in NY.
