So this ones gonna be a bit long but worth it! So I was having a pretty bad day after I found out that there were gonna be delays with the Amtrak train going to Meriden and after taking the shuttle bus from Union station to downtown New Haven, I found out like all the others that the bus had left. So I had to wait another hour for the next bus and it took more than an hour to get to Meriden. So it was already too late to go to the wedding as I still had to shower and get dressed. When I got off the bus and was heading for the Meriden terminal, I drop my cell phone and cracked my screen, and as if things couldnt continue to get worse on my birthday weekend, a bird poops on my new suit jacket! At this point I wanted to explode and wondered what else could go wrong!?! So as Im sitting there at the Meriden Amtrak Terminal waiting for my ride. A Lady came over to me and asked me if I had any spare change and I told her no, I dont She then sat next to me and ended up having good conversation, In our conversation, she reveals that she had gotten raped 2 weeks ago in broad daylight here in Meriden as she motions to her still swollen face with two deep cuts on her cheek area. All of the sudden my ride gets there and as Im walking away I hear the spirit of the Lord say...Go pray for her and I turned back around and asked her....May I pray for you? and she gladly accepted and I held her hand right there at the terminal and prayed for her. I then extended her the invitation to my church and pointed right at it from the terminal. So, what did I learn from this? That while I was doing everything in my power to rush home to get to this wedding, even though the circumstances were out of my control, GOD had OTHER plans for me! He taught me by this experience that I need to relax more when things are out of control and that it may be for a reason. He taught me (All the while being upset and griping) that Im not the only one in this world that has problems and that others are going through far worse. He taught me that its still not about me when theres a serious situation far worse than mine, and reminded me to continue taking the time to pray for others even when I dont really feel like it cause Im going through my own funk! God I thank you for always helping me to understand this thing called life, and for helping me to understand your plan for my life, and for helping me to pray for others in need!
