So this week its Palestinians and Gaza... what about the missing girls in Africa? What about Detroit with no water, occupy this, sterling verdict that. Remember Kony?... Trayvon Martin, Oscar Grant, Katrina victims, pick a tsunami, oil spills, Fukishima... etc etc Its not that I dont stand with these issues. I do. I so genuinely do. Its that you genuinely dont! You think its cool to hop on the band wagon of the most publicized POSTS, read a few quick lines or watch a video about an issue, do no true researc. Then worst of all, think you are SUPPORTING & HELPING those people and situations because you shared a post, liked a status, or commented on some distant world issue. (Even when that distant world is in your own back yard) Are so many of you that totally detached from reality and self absorbed that you think these things with no action mean something? That your mere acknowledgment of an issue will change or even help change the world. All they mean is that you are no longer ignorant, but still stagnant! Im not criticizing your want for something better. Im challenging your apathy. Im asking that you hop off that band wagon and DO SOMETHING besides stare at the device your are viewing the world through and use the knowledge you have of whats wrong and you take a stand to make some changes. If only within yourself...thats where it starts Just ask yourself at what point are you going to finish something.
