So today I followed up on a post from Janis Walden about the cemetary on North Main on the west side of the highway. Hadley and I went out there to take a look, and found a guy mowing. We were like, Awesome! Someones taking care of it. So I stopped to talk to him, and was shocked by what I found out. Hes the father of Will Dunn, who was Hadleys age and passed away 2011. His name is Alvin Dunn, and he uses his mower, and pays for the gas, to mow the half of the cemetary where his son is laid to rest , and he was out there again today. According to Mr. Dunn cemetary doesnt have the money to pay for regular mowing. Its way too big a job for my Girl Scouts. I think Hadley may be the only one who regularly mows. But I am wondering if there is a way to raise the money to pay for the gas, if we can find someone willing to do the mowing, for cheap, or would volunteer. Any suggestions? I find it appalling that the cemetary, which has gravestones that go back to the 1800s, is being left to look like that.
