The whisper of a coffee can as the opener pierces the lid, the gurgle of the coffeemaker on the counter, and the clunk and clatter of the pot as you pull it from the hot plate, the rivulet tumble of the hot coffee as it strikes the cups bottom, the bubbling tonal sweep as the coffee reaches the brim, the sliding of the cup on the table and the sipping of your lips as you test the temperature of that first taste of coffee in the morning.
