So today I had to stop by the doctors office for a blood draw (first time it hasnt been done at home!!), and a woman walked by me with her little boy to use the rest room. I was not in the waiting room, but in the room where they take labs. As she came out of the rest room she stopped and told me she knew I didnt know her, but she knew me - she was one of the first responders who worked on me on that country road. She was so happy to see me. It is rare that first responders get to see a patient after that initial contact. She, in tears, told me I was the worst call she had ever been on, and she is an ER nurse at OSF in Peoria (for you out-of-towners, that is where they helicoptered me to - they see many bad traumas). Of course, she made me cry, but I have to tell you it made me realize again, how lucky I am to be alive. I know God must have something planned for me, Im curious to see what it is. As Im writing this one of my favorite Skillet songs just came on Good to Be Alive. God does have perfect timing!
