So today, the 4 of us took a ride to Westlock. At one point, I swapped bikes with Marv & was able to relive the thrill of riding a 69 Norton down the highway at 60 miles an hour. Many fun memories came flooding back, memories of a 21 year old with his first Brit bike, just happy to be In the Wind, listening to the steady deep drone of the pipes, life is definately better on a Norton.......I didnt notice exactly when the wasp flew into my helmet but all of a sudden, I feel a stinging sensation under my helmet, on the right side of my head.... its starts to hurt more so I wedge my finger into the helmet & try to pry him out. This only enrages the wasp more & he retaliates the only way he knows how, by stinging the spots hes already stung. Finally I pry him out & he abruptly falls down into my shirt, which in turn brings my classic Norton ride to a conclusion as I pull off the road, hitting myself in the stomach while trying to gear down with the wrong foot & brake with the other wrong foot. Then it occurred to me, I think that 21 year old had a similar situation happen to him 30 years ago on his Norton which proves...... even wasps cant resist the sight of a classic 69 Norton Commando S riding down the road & they just want to tell their friends they had a ride on one!!
