So tonight at Millies school she had a poem slam. It was 18 teenagers that had to write a poem for there english class. I laughed, and I cried, it was an amazing night with some amazing young talent. Some funny, some sad, I am so impressed by the amount of feeling that came out of them and the emotion that was brought up in me. There was talk of bullying, there was talk of depression, there was talk of pain... lots of pain. That part made me sad. And to think. Is this how our youth really feel? Are we really listening to them? I mean really listening.Tonight opened my eyes and reminded me of the pain I once was in. I feel inspired and I am so proud of everyone who got up in front of an audience and poured their hearts out. An amazing night, loving this small town life. The best part of the night... Millie Miller got 1st place. Congratulations Babe you did an amazing job. I am so proud of you.
