So we cancelled this mornings run, and Im sure that those of you that ran around the park can understand why. It was very icy indeed, and simply not safe for us to hold an event. Thanks to Hannah Watkinson and Gregory Skelton for turning up early to assess the course and make the decision to cancel. Of those that stayed and tottered around on the ice, none showed more dedication than Neil Musgrove. Neil is a parkrun addict. A very fast runner and regular volunteer at Pontefract. His Saturdays are simply not complete without his parkrun fix. So it was no suprise to see Neil waiting around at the usual starting point. He waited until the clock struck 9am, started his watch and set off up the hill before turning left towards the lake. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Neil Musgrove ran his usual parkrun. I just wish we had been able to give him token number 1 when he finished his 5k. Neil we salute you. Dont forget that we have NO RUN next week 24th January due to the Northern Cross Country Championships being held in the park. There are plenty of other local parkruns, including our friends at Nostell Priory parkrun, so you have no excuse for not running. I bet Neil will get his fix somewhere! See you all in a fortnight?
