So we have an opening for one more copywriter at Raising iBrows. Since I dont have it in me to go through more copy tests with LOLs, thought Id check with you guys before putting an ad out. Thats how I found my other copywriters. So if you know anyone, please get them to send their resumes to careers@raisingibrows. Im looking for: - someone who is good at copywriting, which is a touch different from writing (sadly, this needs to be said) - wit (this is a requirement, not a bonus) - ability to toggle multiple social networking platforms with ease (the role is not restricted to social media though) Im too afraid to ask for someone with personality cause Ive received some very obnoxious applications. If youre bored and in the mood for long copy, check this out. This is an application I got when I had put the first copywriter ad out. Hired him immediately :-) #Hiring #Chennai #Copywriter Hi Judy, I’d like to apply for the writing position currently open at Raising iBrows. I am primarily a writer and editor, with some experience in project management. Among other things, I’ve worked as a Game Master (no, really, that’s a thing) and Community Manager for a videogame company, a copy/content writer at a brand consultancy, and a freelance journalist for a variety of publications, focusing mostly on technology and gaming. I’m a good writer and an excellent editor. Due to circumstances - i.e., there wasn’t anybody else - I was also press-ganged into project management at my previous full-time job. Although it wasn’t something I had ever seen myself doing, I quickly realized that project management essentially boiled down to being yelled at by the clients and the designers simultaneously - something I turned out to be pretty good at. Roundly chastised, I retired young and opted for the quieter climes of freelance work. Projects I’ve worked on include a social media plan for the launch of an American startup, website content and an SOP for a primary healthcare company, a menu for a Bangalore-based restaurant, and editing/proofreading for a variety of clients. That’s all very well, you say, but what are you really like? Well, as you’ve probably deduced from my article-writing preferences, I’m a gamer - both digital and tabletop. I play the guitar, more or less competently, and I used to play the bass. I tend to be rather quiet, sort of like a ninja; unfortunately, that’s as far as I can legitimately take that comparison. I am a man of contradictions - I think that brevity is the soul of wit, but I am also convinced that Twitter is a sign of the end times. I tend to find the average quality of written discourse on the internet…distressing. I prefer the company of books to other people, and I’m yet to see any downside to this. (Don’t worry, I’ve been office-trained*.) I’ve heard a lot about Raising iBrows from Chitra. She’s painted an attractive picture of the work involved as well as the workplace culture. While I do enjoy the freedom that comes with freelancing, this sounds like the kind of place I’d enjoy working at. I’ve attached my resume, as well as some writing samples. Do have a look and let me know what you think. *If hired, honesty compels me to point out that I may, on occasion, pilfer milk powder from the company stores. I encourage you to think of this as a feature and not a bug.
