So, we have decided Spunky, the little, blind, front paw and tail maimed squirrel deserves a chance at a happy, squirrel life. He gets around, eats, scolds, hears and smells. He does not lay around doing nothing. He can actually climb somewhat. We may never be able to hold and snuggle him, but oh well. We put him in a cage, he had been being kept in a carrier. He is in front of window and enjoys the sunshine. What really melted my heart, he was in his blankie, UNDER his hammie, i started singing a silly song with his new name, and he came out and sat and listened, little head cocked toward me. You see all our poor fur babies have to listen to mom sing off key ( cant carry a tune in a bucket) some made up song with their name. He fits right in.
