J-C Football Player of the Week: Zach Reische JOURNAL-COURIER | Posted: Friday, October 18, 2013 1:21 am Zach Reische North Greene What he did: With his team trailing 14-0 late in the fourth quarter, Reische returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown, sparking North Greene’s come-from-behind, double-overtime victory over West Central Friday night in White Hall. Reische, a 6-3, 200-pound junior linebacker, also posted 34 tackles in the 28-22 win that helped the Spartans (3-4) stay in the playoff hunt. On making 34 tackles: “I got home and literally laid in the shower for like 15 minutes (because of the soreness). I did not want to get up. I didn’t even think I had 34 because last year I had 30 against Pleasant Hill, and I was kind of counting in my head because I knew I had quite a few tackles. But this game, I didn’t have a clue at all.” On trailing by two scores at halftime: “We went in at halftime and we knew right away that this was still a very winnable game. We had two quarters left and only 14 points to score.” On making the big interception: “I went through my progression and saw that the quarterback kept the ball. I just eyed him and went out into the zone and picked it off.” Guys this is the team of the week! We played team football and took care of our responsibilities and as long as we do that then we will make our goal week 9! This is a team accomplishment!
