So we have seen quite the variety of temperatures from around the region the past couple of days. Down on the Palouse and into the L-C Valley locations have been smashing temperature records while areas over in the Columbia Basin into the East Slope Valleys have remained in the 30s and low 40s due to fog and/or low clouds. It is amazing the impact fog and low clouds can have on temperatures. For example, Omak had a high of 34 yesterday with a low of 31, only 3 degrees of spread. Lewiston on the other hand hit 63 and dropped to 42, a spread of 21 degrees. Deer Park even better hit 47 as a high and dropped to 24, 23 degree spread. So while the fog/low clouds keep you insulated overnight, they also limit warming during the day. In my opinion I will take the daytime sun and big temperature swings rather than the dreary fog. Temperatures continue to sit on the warm side of normal today, but will likely not rise to levels achieved yesterday. Happy Tuesday Inland NW!!
