So we have three things here. One, a shifty “ex-marine” saw a Black man holding a toy gun in Wal-Mart, assumed it was real, and exaggerated his account to 911 because Black men are dangerous even when we are totally within our rights (this right being the right to bear arms in an Ohio Wal-Mart). Two, this is one of the main problems with open-carry legislation: police don’t know who is planning to commit a crime and who is just exercising their Constitutional right. Three, once again cops serve as judge, jury, and executioner whenever a Black man has stepped across some arbitrary line of acceptable behavior to whites. Crawford broke no laws whatsoever.
