So, we just had our meeting regarding the changes in our health insurance that will take place in 2014 due to the Affordable Care Act. Contrary to what the right wing sound machine on Fox News and talking head radio has been saying, my premiums will NOT be going up by 50%, 75%, 200% or more. A modest 10% increase in health insurance premiums, 8% for dental. My benefits have become better, because now all out of pocket contributes toward the out of pocket maximum (previously, prescriptions and copays did not, but they do now), I can carry my daughter until she is 26 years old, my out of pocket maximum has been reduced and any future spouse I may add to the plan cannot be denied because of a preexisting condition. In all, I am quite happy with the plan and quite happy with the ACA. Thanks Obama.
