So were still here on the Big Island. Got a nice rain last night, - TopicsExpress

So were still here on the Big Island. Got a nice rain last night, and zero wind. Now its clearing to a blue sky. Anxiously watching all the doppler radar on this storm last night, there was some incredible stuff. First, the north south line of mountains which traverse our island (and includes Mauna Loa) seems to stopped the worst of the rain and all the wind dead in its tracks. It just never materialized on our side of the divide. Secondly, it appears that our island has kicked the stuffing out of the storm. The mountains and the size of the island are, apparently, a huge impediment to a cyclones health and path. Mahalo Ke Akua. And mahalo Tutu Pele. You have protected your kids once again.
