So what do you do on a beautiful autumn day in St. Louis? After - TopicsExpress

So what do you do on a beautiful autumn day in St. Louis? After raking the yard, I hauled the leaves over to the 3000 block of Virginia, where they are composting them for a fruit orchard which will be planted in a couple of vacant lots. Maggie & I then took a load of clothes to the Salvation Army, where she bought a 1,000-piece puzzle for 69 cents. While on Cherokee Street, we had lunch at Vallesana and bought plantain chips at a bodega. We then visited Tenth Life, a shelter for special needs cats. We were fortunate to get to see Maryann and Gilligan, who were going home with their forever family today. We then crossed the street to STL-Style (stl-style/) to buy the new Tower Grove Heights neighborhood shirt as a birthday present for Hannah. While in the shop, I asked Maggie for Hannahs shirt size, and the owner (Jeff or Randy-I cannot tell them apart) said Do you mean Hannah Sullivan? I said yes, and he said, Oh, shes great. How is she doing in New York? We talked for a while as he made her shirt. When the time came to pay, he said it was on the house because Hannah had given him a lot of helpful feedback on an earlier design. We also saw one of our kids childhood friends, Chris Barker, who was picking up shirts for the groomsmen for his wedding next week. St. Louis-the biggest small town in America.
