So while sitting in El Sombrero, a fine Mexican establishment, I glanced on my phone and saw The U Part 2 at 8:00 on ESPN. Since at the time it was 7:40 I immediately went into freak out mode. First thing was trying to set up a recording on my phone through the app. //////Will not connect, to receiver////// //////Will not connect, to receiver////// //////Will not connect, to receiver////// //////Will not connect, to receiver////// At this point I am literally getting angry, I try to backdoor the phone app by setting up a live recording. Oh, Crap! What channel was it on? So I told the waiter in the most Steven Willis is pretending to be patient with a waiter tone I could, Check Please. And I am out of there. Great Enchiladas by the way, spicy beans were nice too. Where was I? Oh yeah The U Part 2 I run out of the door and basically Dukes of Hazzard my car to hustle back to work. Its 7:50 and I have a seven minute drive back to work. So I hit the first light, then the second light, then the fourth light. Its 7:55 and I have 3 minutes of road left. I wheel into the station, not speeding, I promise and park the car...and sprint into the station, its 7:59. I ignore three people as I go try to log into web site. //////Will not connect, to receiver////// //////Will not connect, to receiver////// //////Will not connect, to receiver////// //////Will not connect, to receiver////// Then I am calling frantically Jeb Beecham and Becky Willis hoping to god they are in front of the TV with the guide open and on channel 140. Worth a shot right? Well they arent there, they are at trivia. I knew they were at trivia, but I thought if I willed it to happen they would teleport in front of the TV with the remote in hand. Well the freaking didnt. So at this point I am pissed. I have been looking forward to this night for weeks. And it is ruined by a failed app and failed technology. Its 8:03 and I am questioning why we have any technology at all if this doesnt work. Resigned I look for other showings. It debuts tomorrow.
