On Thursday night (last week) Nadja Vermeulen (Emmas aunt) her husband Ryan Gregory, 2nd captain of My Galaxy and his awesome crew threw a very successful raffle/BBQ/pink party fundraiser for Emma at Monaco Marine in La Ciotat, France, that raised over 12 000 euros! (approx R160 000). Described perfectly by Valery Senyk With a lot of heart, pink, glitter, tutus, free flowing booze, live music and date boy auction, people emptied theirs pockets to help try save a little girls life. The generosity was truly overwhelming. Without the following people this fundraiser would never have happened: MONACO MARINE: Who kindly allowed us to use their premises as a venue, as well as always being available to help before and throughout the fundraiser. Your helpfulness and hard work was inspiring. YACHTING SPIRIT: Nico Cau was absolutely amazing and I would not have been able to do this without him - he offered the concert (live music), the DJ set, bar set up but also organized, through some incredibly generous companies, to provide all the drinks for the evening, and some great prizes: AGL PAINT (Cannes), COMMANDERIE DE PEYRASSOL, DOMAINE DU PARTERNEL, DOLPHIN WEAR, FIOUL 83, GMT, NEIL PRYDE GROUP, SLAM Thank you to the amazing staff of Yachting Spirit. You guys are all awesome and words cant describe how thankful I am to you all. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...M/Y GALAXY CREW (Ryan Gregory, Tim Upton, Gisela Rautenbach, Cam Davies, Gareth Evans, Selina Wright, Val Senyk, Harriet Dunderdale, Paula Imrie, Zané Combrink, Brad Heather, Saul Baxter, Steven Webster (engineer), Leighton Harwood and Ramone Perez Apolayo. When a group of people work together and produce something as successful as Emma’s fundraiser – that is a team. A team composed of hard working, dedicated, compassionate, unselfish and charitable individuals. A team that has truly blown me away and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me do this for Emma. The true success of the evening will have to be attributed to all the fantastic people who attended and supported the event. To all the yachties of La Ciotat ship yard, to the Monaco Marine staff who attended as well as the contractors, a HUGE thank you! Your generosity was astounding and the support you all gave was truly humbling. Sometimes during the darkest and hardest times when its difficult to find the strength to go on – its people like all of you who give a family hope and the will to fight on! So once again, from the bottom of all our hearts THANK YOU. Added thanks to the DJ - Marco Badamo (network engineer) as well as the additional bands - Black Pustules, the one that started with Marc Avazeri on Guitar and vocals, head manager of Monaco Marine group - The Badamos, the one just before the rafle, with Marco (the DJ), Charlotte, project managers at Monaco Marine and Marcos wife, and Fabrice, electrician at Monaco Marine. Here are a few pics from the event (which looks like it was a blast!). Thanks ALL.
