So, whoever said airlines are good about hooking the military up - TopicsExpress

So, whoever said airlines are good about hooking the military up has very obviously never dealt with United. I bought my ticket back in August, and our schedule changed and I wont be able to fly home on the 17th of December. So, I asked my chain of command if Ill be able to be left behind and the answer, naturally, was no because there is nobody else qualified to do my job for a cert that got pushed to that week. So the upper chain is trying to work with me and help me re-do my plane tickets to go home and United wants an extra 500 dollars, on top of the 500 I spent for the original ticket, for a new ticket PLUS a 200 dollar change fee that I may or may not get back. Expedia, which I booked the tickets through, are singing the same tune. Bottom line, either A. Im spending another 500+ dollars that I dont have to go home for christmas due to a screwup thats not my fault. or B. I dont get to go home because of a screw up thats not my fault. Sooo, where in that is the airline helping people in the military get home for christmas? Good job United Airlines. Thats what I get for being reliable at doing my job.
