So yesterday Inhuman Two came out, and the second track is Jack Dixons remix of Automaton feat BRAIDS. People seem interested in the production and remix process, so I asked Jack how hed put the remix together: Max and I share a similar appreciation for melody, texture and intricate detail, so I knew the foundations were very strong for me to build upon. When Max approached me, I’d just moved to New York and unfortunately I had to sell-off most of my studio back home in Berlin & London to fund the move. This was an interesting opportunity to really strip back my work process and use a (very) limited number of tools to create the remix. It’s amazing what’s possible with software ‘out of the box’, especially as in my case it forced me to try new things and bend the rules a little. Not only that, but most of the mixing was done on headphones as I was waiting for my monitors to ship from the UK.
